Paul's Dillema

Feb 22 2004 · 1 min read

So my travel mate Paul has been trying to get a job with Lockheed Martin, but they keep pulling him along and not giving him an answer… His situation is this: either he gets the sweet job working in Kosovo making mucho $$… or he doesnt and gets to travel South America with me. Either way it works out for him! But since I had that remedial driving course and was going to miss most of Carnaval, I decided to wait on Paul to get ready. We haven’t purchased tickets to SA yet and he still doesnt have a final answer from Lockheed. They said they would tell him this friday. Clock’s ticking….

Traffic Court "System"

Feb 17 2004 · 2 min read

As part of my plea bargain with the District Attorney of Chatham county, I have to take a driver’s remedial course. Eight grueling hours of seemingly obvious and basic driving information, makes me begin to question the whole traffic court system… how a little accident like (barely) running a redlight can add points on car insurance and raise it by $120 per year for three years. And how it takes a lawyer to get the offense “reduced” to a non-moving violation to save money is puzzling. Why can’t we just pay the $25 dolar fine, and avoid “court” costs/ lawyer costs and insurance increase?

hurray for point mapper

Feb 10 2004 · 1 min read

I found another way to link blogposts geographical locations to an image with PointMapper, yet another solution from MapBureau. Unfortunately, this one doesnt have all of the automated functionality that I originally wanted… but i think it will do fine, and anyway it will have to work for now! Here is my first test. I want to show you my first destination on the map. Click: Quito, Ecuador to show a point on the map.

The map requires Flash enabled browser. You can use the tool bar to zoom in and out as well as other functionality.
